Een vrij lange tijd ben ik qua stemgedrag een aanhanger geweest van de SP. In die tijd heb ik meerdere malen op zowel lokaal als landelijk niveau op de SP gestemd. Dit heb ik gedaan in het verleden omdat de SP destijds de partij was wiens agenda en standpunten het meest bij mij paste. Echter naarmate ik mijzelf meer in politieke zaken ging inlezen(voornamelijk uit noodzaak vanwege mijn situatie als een persoon met een "beperking") is het mij echter meer en meer duidelijk geworden dat de SP met hun huidige partijbestuur geen interesse heeft om linkse politiek te voeren. De redenen hiervoor zijn mij niet helemaal duidelijk en zijn iets waar ik alleen maar over kan speculeren maar het is wel duidelijk geworden dat de SP partijbestuur in het afgelopen jaar een aantal beslissingen heeft genomen die mij heel duidelijk maken dat de SP niet mijn vriend is en ik zeker niet op hun voor ondersteuning kan rekenen. 

Ik denk dat in dit geval dat het belangrijkste evenement van afgelopen jaar de breuk was met ROOD(de jongerenbeweging van de SP). Hoewel dit een gebeurtenis was waar wel wat aandacht was gegeven in traditionele media verteld deze echter niet het gehele verhaal. Deze breuk begon met de royementen van 5 SP-Leden op 28 Oktober 2020 vanwege vermeend dubbellidmaatschap van deze leden met organisaties zoals het Communistisch Platform en het Marxistisch Forum. Het SP statuut verbied dubbellidmaatschap met andere politieke partijen(iets wat zowel het Communistisch Platform als het Marxistisch Forum niet zijn overigens) en dit was de aangegeven reden voor de schorsingen. Echter geroyeerd lid Matthijs van Otterdijk beweert dat dit een besluit is wat al maanden eerder is genomen. De ware reden volgens hun is het feit dat er op het algemene ledenvergadering van ROOD op 28 Juni 2020 een beslissing was genomen om een motie op te zetten tegen een regeringsdeelname van de SP met de liberale VVD. De aanleiding van deze motie was het feit dat voor deze ALV het SP partijbestuur in de media hadden aangegeven om een samenwerking met de VVD niet uit te sluiten. Het SP partijbestuur was blijkbaar niet zo tevreden met de kritiek uit hun achterban en dus besloten ze om het kritiek de mond te snoeren en om meer "radicale" leden eruit te gooien.(1)

Deze royementen leidde uiteindelijk van het een tot het ander en het resultaat is dat uiteindelijk de SP de banden met hun eigen jongerenorganisatie verbrak. Deze breuk is puur de schuld van het SP partijbestuur. Er is vanuit ROOD meerdere oproepen geweest om te verzoenen en het SP heeft dit allemaal afgewezen.(2) 

Gezien het feit dat de SP nu dus geen jongerenbeweging meer heeft, hebben leden van het Marxistisch Forum besloten om hunzelf beschikbaar te stellen voor verkiezingen van het nieuwe partijbestuur echter blijkt nu dat bijna al deze leden voor de voordracht commissie afgewezen zijn. Vaag taalgebruik wordt hier gebruikt als redenen en het is duidelijk dat de kans op een Marxistische stroming binnen de SP steeds kleiner en kleiner wordt.(3)

De SP is ooit begonnen in de jaren 70 als een Maoïstische afsplitsing van de voormalige CPN en het is duidelijk dat het autoritaire denken van het Stalinisme en Maoïsme iets is wat nog in de top van de organisatie verwezen zit. Het is ook duidelijk dat de strategie van de SP van de afgelopen 10 jaar om meer naar de liberale kiezer te verrechtsen een strategie is die de SP niks oplevert en alleen maar naar verlies leidt. 

Nu kan men de vraag stellen: "Maar Pim jij hebt Anarchistische trekjes, waarom boeit het je wat een partij doet?". Ondanks mijn Anarchistische denkwijze vind ik wel dat het belangrijk is als linkse persoon om kritiek te leveren op politieke partijen zoals dit. Zeker als deze partijen pretenderen voor mij te spreken. Ik zou mijzelf niet een Marxist noemen(en ik heb zeker kritiek op de desbetreffende Marxistische organisaties) maar het is wel mijn plicht om ondemocratisch onrecht zoals dit aan de kaak te stellen. Organisaties zoals het Communistisch Platform en het Marxistisch Forum hebben hun visie gemaakt om alles in te zetten op de SP en ik vraag mijzelf af of dit een goed idee. Het is zeer duidelijk dat de SP in hun huidige vorm dit niet wil en ik denk persoonlijk dat Nederlandse Marxisten beter af zijn met activisme en lokale organisatie in plaats van proberen mee te doen met een politiek system wat hun weigert te accepteren(wat heel slecht reflecteert op de Nederlandse democratie overigens). 

In ieder geval is het mij allemaal heel duidelijk. Ik ben nooit een fan geweest van het parlementaire system dus stemmen is voor mij meer op "wie is het minst slechtste partij". Met de acties die de SP heeft gedaan het afgelopen jaar zal ik mijn stem in de nabije toekomst ergens anders naartoe brengen tenzij het SP laat zien dat ze een echte linkse partij zijn en een megafoon voor links Nederland in plaats van een stelletje liberalen in Socialistische kleding

For a relatively long time period I have been a supporter of the SP(Socialist Party) in terms of voting behavior. In this time period I voted on the SP multiple times, during both local and national elections. I did this in the past because I considered the SP to be the party whose agenda and viewpoints fitted me the most. However when I began reading into political subjects more(mostly out of necessity due to my situation being "disabled") it became more and more clear to me that the SP with their current party leadership has no interest in doing left wing politics. The reasons for this are not entirely clear to me and is something I can only speculate about, however it became clear that the SP party leadership made some decisions last year that shows to me that the SP is not my friend and that I cannot count on them for support.

I think that the most important event last year the split with ROOD(the youth wing of the SP) was. Although this even was given a lot of attention in traditional media, doesn't it tell the entire story. The split started with the expulsion of 5 SP members on the 28th of October 2020 due to alleged double membership of these members with the organizations of the Communistisch Platform and the Marxistisch Forum. The statue of the SP prohibits double membership with other political parties(something neither the Communistisch Platform nor the Marxistisch Forum are by the way) and this was the reason given for the expulsion. However expelled member Matthijs Van Otterdijk claims that this was a decision that was taken months ago. The true reason according to them was the fact that on the yearly general assembly of members of ROOD a decision was made to implement a motion against the parliamentary participation of the SP with the liberal VVD. The reason for this decision was the fact that before this assembly, the SP leadership had made clear in the media that they would not say no to cooperation with the VVD. The SP leadership was not very happy with critique from their own ranks and therefore decided to silence dissenters and expel more "radical" members of their party.(1)

These expulsions led from one thing to another but ended with the SP breaking ties with their own youth wing. This split is 100% the fault of the SP. There have been multiple attempts by ROOD to talk it out with the SP and this was all rejected by the SP.(2)

Due to the fact that the SP has therefore not a youth wing anymore have some members of the Marxistisch Forum decided to elect themselves for the upcoming elections of the party leadership however before the elections are even beginning it has become very clear that the SP has decided to reject the Marxist candidates. Vague weasel words are given as reasons for this rejection and it becomes clear that the chance of getting a Marxist stream in the SP becomes smaller and smaller.(3)

The SP started in the 70's as a Maoist offshoot of the former CPN and it is obvious that the authoritarian thinking of Stalinism and Maoism is still very much weaved into the structure of the party leadership. It is also clear that the strategy of the SP of the last 10 years to move more right to appeal to liberal voters has not gained them anything and only costed them.

Now you could ask the question: "Pim you have Anarchist leanings! Why do you care about party politics like this?" because despite my anarchist leanings I do think that it is important as a leftist to talk about and criticize parties like this. Especially if said parties claim to represent my interests or claim to be speaking for me. I would not call myself a Marxist(and I definitely have issues with the aforementioned Marxist groups) but it is my duty to question and call out undemocratic injustices like this. Organizations like the Communistisch Platform and the Marxistisch Forum made it their vision to go all in on the SP and I am more and more wondering if this is such a good idea. It is very clear that the SP in their current form has no interests in this and I think that Dutch Marxists would be better off doing grassroots activism and local organization rather then try to participate in a political system that rejects them based on their views(which reflects very poorly on Dutch democracy in general to be honest). 

In any case the situation is very clear for me. I have never been a huge fan of the parliamentary system so voting for me has always been "voting for the least worst". With the actions taken by the SP last year however I shall take my vote somewhere else unless the SP shows to me that they are a true left wing party and a megaphone for the Dutch left instead of a bunch of liberals in socialist clothing.
